Research Overview:

I am interested in improving the reliability and performance of existing software, particularly concurrent programs.

Stabilizer: Enforcing Predictable and Analyzable Performance Stabilizer is a compiler transformation and runtime system that enables comprehensive run-time randomization of programs. Re-randomization of layout during execution leads to normally distributed execution times, enabling a wide range of statistical techniques for sound performance evaluation.

DThreads: Efficient and Deterministic Multithreading I worked with Tongping Liu on Dthreads, a drop-in replacement for pthreads that guarantees determininstic execution of parallel programs. Dthreads appeared at SOSP in October 2011.
