Research Overview: Adapting Machine Learning Algorithms for Parallelism
I am researching machine learning algorithms and applications with an underlying emphasis on the new opportunities afforded by massively parallel CMPs. My research currently focuses on parallelizing Content Based Image Retrieval systems, including both feature extraction and Support Vector Machine training algorithms.
This exercise has two main goals: produce the highest performance CBIR system, and create parallel frameworks and tools for implementing other machine learning applications.
