GSRC Student Profile:
Research Overview: Characterization and Dynamic Management of Cache Interference between User Applications, Operating Systems, and Hardware Prefetching
I am broadly interested in computer architecture with an emphasis on shared resource management for chip-multiprocessor (CMP) systems. In particular, I investigate software and hardware techniques to assist the management of the multi-level cache hierarchy, targeting performance throughput, quality of service (QoS), and fair sharing. I am also interested in techniques that exploit potential parallelism hidden in sequential and parallel applications. In this statement, I briefly summarize my dissertation research work, highlight its contribution to industry and to the academic research community, and detail my future research directions.
