Research Overview:  Debugging Solutions for Acceleration

Due to the complexity of modern digital designs, it is now impossible to simulate and thoroughly test a design within a reasonable time frame. Verification relies on simulation acceleration platforms to catch design bugs before taping a chip out.

Unfortunately, debugging on an acceleration platform comes with a trade-off. Even though one can get high signal visibility, doing so would slow down simulation. My research focuses on finding debugging techniques for acceleration platforms that do not slow simulation down significantly.
