Research Overview: Efficient Coding Techniques for Defect Tolerance in Future Nano-Circuits
Hady Zeineddine is currently working on the research project of using coding techniques for defect tolerance in future nano-technologies. The electronic components of the post-silicon era
technologies are expected to have a very high defect rate compared to the current rates, which
means that the current fault-tolerance techniques will fail to produce both density-efficient and reliable computational units from these components. The purpose of the research is to develop new methods or/and architectures to address this problem by applying ideas from coding theory and traditional fault-tolerance techniques, at different levels of abstractions, on the emerging nanotechnologies.
