Signal modulation quality in wireless OFDM systems is affected by the performance of the individual modules (LNA, mixer, PA) of the RF front-end. The baseband processor of an OFDM transceiver is used to adaptivley control the performance of the low noise amplifier in the RF front end to ensure optimal system performance in the presence of weak RF transmission and degraded LNA performance with minimal impact on power consumption.The use of off-line alternate test driven and on-line sensor driven techniques foradaptation will be demonstrated.
