Bio:
Syed M. Alam received his BS degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999, MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001 and 2004, respectively. He is currently a senior staff design engineer in the Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (MRAM) Team at Freescale Semiconductor responsible for various MRAM design, self-test, and SoC integration aspects. Dr. Alam is also involved in research and exploration of 3D integration issues and opportunities with the System Interconnect Solutions group. His research interest include emerging memory design, design-for-test, signal integrity and reliability, and 3D integration. Dr. Alam has over 25 refereed publications on the above areas, 7 patents issued/pending, and several invited talks including tutorials at ICCAD and GLSVLSI. He serves on the technical program committees of ISQED, ICCAD, and GLSVLSI, and was also a panel member for the National Science Foundation.
