In 1998 Ken left the university to become Director of Technical Operations at Inktomi. At Inktomi Ken was in charge of the architecture, design and operation of the international search engine infrastructure. He was responsible for the management of technical staff, defining operational quality and performance requirements for 24x7x365 revenue producing systems. He was also Director of Information Technology in which he oversaw Corporate MIS, Telecommunications, Security and Network Architectures supporting worldwide corporate operations.

Ken is currently the Executive Director for the GSRC. His current interests include the implementation of next-generation reliable computing systems and next generation network architectures.
