Bio:
Deming Chen got his BS in physical chemistry from China before he came to the United States in 1992. He then got a BS in computer science and worked for several years before he joined the Ph.D. program of UCLA in 1999. During his Ph.D., he also worked as a software engineer at Aplus Design Technologies, Inc (now part of Magma Design Automation, Inc.) for more than a year. He joined the ECE department of UIUC as a faculty member in 2005. His current research interests include FPGA/structured ASIC design and synthesis, behavioral synthesis, microprocessor architecture design under process variation, adaptive computing, and design space exploration for system-on-chip and embedded systems. He is a technical committee member for FPGA (2006) and ASPDAC (2007) and a session chair for ICCD (2005).
