Bio:Dr. David Blaauw received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Illinois in 1991. He worked for 8 years for Motorola, Inc. in Austin, TX, where he was the manager of the High Performance Design Technology group. Since August 2001, he has been on the faculty at the University of Michigan where he is currently a full Professor.

Dr. David Blaauw's research and teaching interests include low power design, reliability analysis, and electronic design automation. He has more than 250 refereed conference and journal publications, including 8 best paper awards or nominations, including two from the IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference. He was the Technical Program Chair and General Chair for the ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design in 1999 and 2000, respectively. He was the Technical Program Co-Chair of the ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference from 2001 through 2002 and a member of its Executive Committee from 2000 through 2003.
