Network design drivers

This topic describes a set of interesting applications in the area of networking devices. The design of these devices must be adaptable to evolving standards, suggesting a software solution. Yet performance constraints are difficult to meet on a general-purpose platform. These constraints provide a compelling design driver for the Mescal project.
