EDG Evaluation
Ashok Sudarsanam, 13 Sep 1999

A compiler front-end developed by EDG (Edison Design Group) has been made available to us at no charge.  However, this front-end is written in C, and is about 400,000 lines long.  Furthermore, according to one of the researchers in the Titaniuam Group at U.C. Berkeley who has experimented with the EDG code, it is "Big and Nasty".
